Texture. Warmth. Atmosphere.
Warm paving tones and a curved stone wall give this courtyard its character. Seen after dark, the wall’s texture becomes the focus of the space.

Working with the curve
The wall’s rounded shape gives the courtyard a softer outline than a straight boundary would. The paving follows that curve, with a mix of warm and muted colours that sits comfortably beside the varied natural stone.
There is a strong relationship between the materials: smaller paving units across the ground and larger, irregular stone faces in the wall. That change in scale gives the finished area depth without needing a wide range of finishes.
A different view in the evening
The light along the top of the wall picks out its surface and makes the courtyard feel different after sunset. It shows why the evening view is useful to consider when deciding where a seating area or path should go.
For a stonework and paving project, we can talk through the intended use, the existing boundaries and the materials you want to retain or introduce. If lighting is part of the idea, its specification and specialist installation can be discussed alongside the landscaping requirements.
